Brilliant News! We should all be very proud to have supported the Governments Alert Level requirements and successfully reached Alert Level 2!

Thank you to everyone who got involved in the online events, challenges and discussions whilst we were unable to get together in the water! Big thanks to the committee who have kept in communication amidst all the changes - we are now very happy to announce the new training sessions commencing next week!

The pools are slowly reopening but under Level 2 safety conditions so please take time to read the following information carefully.

Alert Level 2 training information

Book your training

For now, spaces are limited to maintain safety. Please book your place on the AFC website here: aucklandfreediving.co.nz/afc-events/

New Freediving Safety Guidelines

Our national body, Freediving New Zealand, has worked hard to update safe training policies. Please read these to make sure you know how to be a safe diver and a safe buddy!

Panmure

• All pool users to sign in and out via QR code for contract tracing
• Limit of 4 Swimmers per lane
• No poolside warm-ups
• Changing room facilities will remain open, however, we would encourage that all users shower at home to reduce congestion in the changing rooms.
Wednesday sessions start again on Wednesday 20th May at 7:30-8:30 pm (limit of 8 people)

West Wave

Yet to reopen. Updates will be on website, FB and via email.

Inductions

As soon as we are able to safely teach induction skills we will send out rescheduled induction events. This will depend on the Government, pool, and FNZ policies.

Phew! thanks for taking the time to read all that important information!
We can't wait to get you all back to training again - but please be mindful and kind to everyone around you. We all want to make sure Level 2 and 1 are lifted as quickly as possible so we can get back together as a full freediving family again!

See you soon,
AFC President
